Contractors quote after seeing the roof, not from a postcode, so where in Avalon you are affects who turns up rather than what you are told.
Behind it: morning fog that sits on the roof until mid-morning. Nothing dramatic happens. A slope stays damp most mornings for thirty years, and eventually that is enough.
Most asked for around here: roof inspection
An inspection is the cheapest thing on this site and the one that saves the most money, because it turns a guess into a number.
Questions
Is this really free?
Yes. You pay nothing, now or later. Roofing contractors pay us for the introduction, which is why the service costs you nothing and why we are upfront that it is how we make money.
Why three quotes and not one?
One quote is a number with no context. Three gives you a range, and the conversation about why they differ is where you learn what you are actually buying.
Is moss on the roof a problem?
Yes, eventually. Moss holds water against the shingle and lifts the edges as it thickens. Zinc or copper strip at the ridge suppresses it. Pressure washing an asphalt roof strips the granules and does more harm than the moss did.
